Earlier, it was reported that Xiaomi might have started working on the successor (Mi5) of the latest available flagship smartphone, Mi4.
The photo purportedly shows the front side of the phone from a very close angle. The images show the device with a bezel less display. The Mi5 left a niche space on the top and bottom, while the rest of the front has been occupied by the display.
There are several handsets with similar frontal design, including LG's G series of smartphones. OEMs like HTC, Microsoft and several other smartphone manufacturers are also working on bezel less display as it gives a classy look to the phone and makes the phablets more ergonomic during single handed operation.
Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to come with an eight-core processor, 64-bit computing ability and at least 3GB RAM. Various reports claim that the latest smartphone is likely to feature a 2.5D screen and will be made available at ₹20,000 (1999 YUAN).
The Chinese manufacturer hasn't launched Mi4 in India yet. The company is expected to release the current flagship device following Redmi Note, which will be released in India soon. Redmi 1s is still getting sold by Indian e-retailer Flipkart, but they are not taking any more orders for Mi 3.
If the company releases Mi4 before Google Online Shopping Festival, which will start from 10 December, Xiaomi will be able to sell a good amount of stock. Mi5 is expected to release in India by the second quarter next year.
