Micromax's new YU series smartphone launch, a report has surfaced online that the upcoming CyagenMod OS-powered device is said to be a re-branded model of a Chinese phone.
Technology blog Gadget Raid has claimed that forthcoming Micromax YU is a clone of Chinese handset Coolpad F2 4G model. To corroborate the claims, it has posted image slides comparing the Coolpad F2 with the device photos teased by Micromax.
Phone's speaker grill and all the buttons on the front and sides are strikingly identical. Even the square-shaped camera module with LED flash placement on the rear is uncannily similar.
Another technology blog AndroidOS.in too claims that Micromax YU is a clone of Coolpad F2. The website has gotten hold of the export-import manifest of the Micromax smartphone on Zauba.com (an Indian logistic firm) database. It is learnt that the device features a 5.5-inch display, 4G-LTE chip and dual-SIM slot -- the same as Coolpad F2.
