Intex is all set to introduce a new budget Android KitKat based smartphone in the Indian market. The new Intex Aqua KAT budget smartphone is now available online via an e-retail store (eBay India) at a price tag of Rs. 2,999. Although there is no official announcement from Intex regarding the said device, we believe the company will make an announcement soon.

The Intex Aqua KAT budget smartphone features a 4-inch WVGA display with a 480x800 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. It comes with 512MB of internal storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It sports a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. The device runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. Connectivity options on the device include: 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE and GPS/ A-GPS. It is backed by a 1300mAh battery.

Intex has been known to come out with budget devices every now and then. Some of these devices (for instance, the Aqua KAT) are dirt cheap and offer some decent specs for the budget-minded consumers looking to make their smartphone debut. Only recently the company had launched the Aqua T2 smartphone at a price of Rs. 2,699.
