How much will your phone live? This is one of the first few questions that pops up while making a decision before buying a mobile phone. While there have been buzz about 4000 mAh battery, Gionee is here to set an entirely new benchmark for batteries. The deal offers magnanimous battery size of 5000 mAh which definitely lives its name of "Gionee Marathon M3". This is the primary and unique selling proposition of the phone. The company claims that the battery can deliver up to 32.46 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 51 hours of talk time on 2G networks. It is equivalent to 32.8 days of standby time. Gionee earlier this year in February had launched M2, the predecessor.
Apart from being humungous in the battery segment, it has a 5 inch HD display. The back cover is believed to be in plastic and it has 8 GB of internal storage and there is a 128 GB micro SD card slot as well. M3 has an Android 4.4 KitKat operating system that runs on Mali 400 MP2 GPU, 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6582 quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. It has a dual SIM facility and further offers 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS. Camera is an 8 MegaPixel auto focus LED flash and a 2 MegaPixel front camera. It also has a proximity sensor, accelerometer and a compass (magnetometer).
The handset measures 144.5x71.45x10.4 mm and weighs 180.29 grams (without battery).
The notable point is the non-removable aspect of the battery.
