Bentley Vertu Runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat
Following an announcement  made earlier this year, Bentley and Vertu have unveiled an Android-running luxury smartphone.
The "Vertu for Bentley" smartphone features a quilted calf leather finish combined Bentley's shade of Newmarket Tan and diamond pattern stitching. It benefits from a titanium construction and comes with tactile diamond knurling detailing on the side rails while at the back there's an engine-turned pattern which opens to show the engraved signature of the person in charge of building the phone.
Unlike most of Vertu's phones, this one isn't outdated at all as it is running Android 4.4 KitKat and is powered by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3 Ghz. It has 64GB of internal memory and is equipped with a 1080p 4.7-inch touchscreen display benefiting from sapphire crystal coating.
At the back it uses a 13 MP camera with twin focus and dual LED flash while at the front it packs a 2.1 MP camera. It comes with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2,275 mAh which should provide enough juice for up to 15 hours and 30 minutes of talk time or 380 hours in standby.
Already available at select Vertu boutiques, the smartphone will be built in a limited series of 2,000 units, with pricing set at a steep $17,100 (€12,500 / £10,700).
