Microsoft today finally unveiled the anticipated first Microsoft Lumia smartphone, called Microsoft Lumia 535. The new smartphone features a 5-inch display and runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim Update out of the box.

Microsoft Lumia 535 has a 5-inch display panel with 960 x 540 pixels (qHD) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone has 8GB on-board storage which can be expanded up to 128GB through a microSD card. In addition, there is free 15GB OneDrive storage access for storing files on cloud.

The Lumia 535 has a 1/4-inch camera sensor on the rear with 5-megapixel resolution and f/2.4 aperture and 28mm focal length and an LED flash is available for taking shots under dark. A 5-megapixel camera sensor is available on the front with a wide-angle lens to enable users to easily take bright selfies. Microsoft has provided Lumia Selfie, Bing vision, Creative Studio and Lumia Camera apps on the software front.

There is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and a microUSB port on the connectivity front and the smartphone has a dual-SIM variant with dual-standby technology.

The Lumia 535 packs with a 1905mAh battery which is claimed to provide up to 23 days of standby time and 13 hours of talk time on a 3G network.

The Lumia 535 will be available this month with an estimated price tag of €110 (approximately Rs. 8,500), starting in China, Hong Kong and Bangladesh. Thereafter, the launch is expected in other markets including India.

Microsoft has additionally announced a flip cover for the Lumia 535 to protect its display. The cover will be available in multiple colors to match the three color options of the smartphone.
