The long awaited rumor has finally been confirmed and HTC has took wraps of their newest smartphone the HTC Desire 620. The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has announced the model first in their home country Taiwan and we expect it to roll out to other regions in the coming months. There is a 3G variant and a 4G LTE variant. Given the rise of LTE connectivity in India, HTC might launch both of them here with slight price variations.
There are two different models available – the HTC Desire 620 and the HTC Desire 620G with slight variation in the specifications and the 620G is the most affordable of the both.
The HTC Desire 620 features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz 64-bit quad core Snapdragon 410 processor and has 1 GB of RAM. It has 4G LTE connectivity and features 8 GB of internal storage with an option to expand with the micro SD card slot. The phone has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera.
Connectivity options include Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS and it has a 2100 mAh battery. The device runs on Android Kit Kat 4.4 operating system but will have HTC’s Sense UI over it that alters it slightly from vanilla Android.
The HTC Desire 620G has the same specifications and screen size except for the processor and the connectivity part. It has a 1.3 GHz Mediatek octa core processor and supports only 3G connectivity which makes it cheaper than its elder sibling.
According to sellers in Taiwan, the Desire 620 costs approximately Rs. 14,000 in conversion while the Desire 620G will sell for Rs. 10,000. The release is pegged at mid-December and a worldwide launch is expected soon. If priced right, the phones might have a good run in India.
