Beating the record set by the Gionee Elife S5.1, Oppo launched the new Oppo R5 which now holds the prestigious position of being the slimmest phone in the world. The flagship model was revealed in a grand event yesterday and the company has priced it at $499 without contract, which could be approximately Rs. 30,500 in India. There is no word on when the phone will be go on sale in the country but we could expect it to be around the corner, most probably before the end of the year.
The company revealed more information about the phone on their Twitter handle and confirmed that it will be manufactured using both metallic as well as ceramic materials. The Oppo R5 features a grand 5.2 inches of screen space with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The HD display is ideally supported by the AMOLED technology which is said to provide great color contrast ratio and brightness levels.
The Oppo R5 weighs 155 grams which is quite light and shouldn’t cause any fatigue. We will keep you posted once it becomes available in India.
