HTC launched a range of devices at its ‘Double Exposure’ event in Mumbai last night in the presence of Bollywood actor John Abraham. The HTC Desire 820 and Desire 820q which were announced last month finally got a price tag – Desire 820 for Rs 24,500 and Desire 820q for Rs 22,500. Both the phones will start selling in the Indian market from November 4th.
HTC Desire 820 and 820q were announced along with Desire 816 last month. The Desire 820 is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC which has a 1.5GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A53 processor and a quad-core 1GHz Cortex A53 processor. The Desire 820q comes fuelled by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC featuring a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU. The Desire 820 features 2GB RAM while the 820q gets 1GB RAM. Both the phones run Android 4.4 KitKat with the Sense UI skin on top.
Both the devices sport a 5.5-inch HD display, a dual-SIM configuration and have 16GB of internal storage. This is expandable via a microSD card (up to 128GB). The Desire 820 as well as the 820q are geared towards camera enthusiasts and to that end both sport a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The rear camera comes with a backside illuminated sensor (BSI sensor) and an f/2.2 aperture.
Both the devices come integrated with 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity which offers a theoretical speeds of upto 150Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speeds.
The new devices also support HTC’s Dot View case, providing instant access to your phone without opening the cover. With a range of functions from answering calls and receiving and dismissing notifications with a simple swipe, this retro style case can be customised to suit any situation, with the ability to create your own wallpaper by selecting images from your gallery or from 18 different themes.
